In the midst of its first full season as an official NHRA category, the Holley EFI Factory X class has been inching toward the six-second zone with sleek entries of manually shifted, supercharged, lightweight hot rods. Friday at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway played host to history as Jesse Alexandra became the first in the Holley EFI Factory X category to break the six-second barrier in the category packed with hard-to-tame, fun-to-watch hot rods.

The Holley EFI Factory X category was established as an eight-race series at the beginning of this season, and the beastly cars have seen plenty of attention-getting passes, including a pair of 7.009 jaunts laid down by Alexandra and Greg Stanfield at the NHRA Texas FallNationals three weeks ago.

Automotive Racing Products (ARP), an industry leader in fastener technology, welcomed Alexandra as the first entrant in the ARP Six-Second Club, which awards the first driver to make the historic six-second run a $10,000 bonus. Alexandra raced to a 6.988-second pass at 192.44 mph in his 2024 Chevrolet Camaro for bragging rights and the cash prize.
